After his parents divorced, Isabella Swan decided to live with his biological father, Charlie Swan, in a small town with a fairly high rainfall, Forks.
The first day of the move to a high school in the city center, filled with dozens and even hundreds of names of people who tried to close or only lip service offering hospitality. But of the many names that even he can not remember a single one, just a name that caught his attention, CULLEN.

On the way home from Port Angels that Edward told him everything, about who he is. Initially surprised when Edward tells Bella that he and all members of the Cullen family is not human, but a vampire, but then he can control. She loves Edward, and he did not think about vampires and non-vampire it does not matter.
Finally, Edward tells Bella all wanted to know, about who he is, how he became a vampire, nor why he and his family do not suck human blood. After telling everything Edward gives Bella a second chance to,
"Run Bella, I'm not as perfect as you imagine."
But Bella did not move, he was already in love with Edward, and he does not care who the real Edward because he was sure Edward was not going to hurt Bella.
The next day Edward decided to introduce Bella to other family members. All received Bella with open arms, but Rosalie Cullen, Edward's sister extraordinary beauty with blond somehow looks really hate Bella. But, again, Bella ignored him, because the important thing is Edward. In a short time, Bella is best friends with Edward's sister, Alice, who appears to have special abilities such as vision for the future. Carlisle and Esme Cullen, Edward's parents are very grateful to Bella, because Bella was able to change Edward.

Alice hides Bella to Seattle, but James managed to deceive everyone. James rummaging through their plans, he managed to get Bella, and nearly kills Bella right before Edward comes to save Bella. Bella was seriously injured, his body covered in blood, a dozen broken bones, but his life successfully saved.
After that, Edward vows to protect Bella. He will not let the incident was repeated a second time.
